John 21:17 KJV
He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
I don’t really know how it feels to be betrayed/denied by someone so close to you, someone you love or who loved you to the core.
But surely, from what I’ve heard from people, that must be one very awful feeling. Two very close pals had done same to Jesus; Judas Iscariot and Peter. Yet Jesus would re-instate Peter and trust him with a very huge responsibility, as if the denial never happened.
Jesus is not a master of reminding us of our errors, or getting back at us for our wrongs. He’s rather that gentle refuge who is willing to even trust us with more responsibility if we are willing to accept. What a man to follow!
Don’t live in the past. Yes… you did it alright, but He’s more than willing to forget and move on with you. How willing are you to accept this?
Have a blessed new month.
