Jeremiah 16:1-2 KJV
The word of the Lord came also unto me, saying,

[2] Thou shalt not take thee a wife, neither shalt thou have sons or daughters in this place.

A work colleague told me once that she visited a town in one Region sometime ago and she had an experience of her life she’d never forget.

She was making a thoroughfare through a house with some guys, when an oldman in the house stopped her and asked her to return. She wouldn’t listen because all the guys she was with had by then gone through. Then the oldman explained to her that those who were ‘bleeding’ couldn’t pass through.

Familiar spirits had already informed him of the lady’s condition. Many more diviners and seers defiled the land in the days of Jeremiah, so God would not have him or his seed unequally yoked with them. Psalm 1:1-4 says this in a different way.

You just cannot go on with certain people or have relations with them, especially when you get to know who they are or where you are. Staying away doesn’t make you anti-social, it rather wins you favour from the Lord.
