Song of Solomon 6:8-9 KJV
There are threescore queens, and fourscore concubines, and virgins without number.
[9] My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea , the queens and the concubines, and they praised her.
Very interesting to read comments like this from none other than the Philosopher himself. I’m not certain of the exact time or stage of his life when he wrote this, but makes interesting reading.
It is said by many that, no matter how many girls a man has, there’s one particular one he truly loves. I do not intend to argue this out but I can draw out some parallels with what the Philosopher wrote in verses 8 & 9.
Indeed the temptation to have many “side chicks” exists and one could easily be caught in the web of telling many lies to please each of them. The difficulty/challenge lies in self control, and until a man is self-controlled HE IS NO MAN.
So if you need to prove your manhood, prove it via self-control. God rewards faithfulness and He expects you to be faithful in all things, especially you the married, you who vowed to Him at His altar.
Have a blessed day.
