Psalm 142:4 KJV
I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.
The first time I watched the movie “A walk to remember,” way back in 2004, it made such a huge impression on me. Particularly, the song sang by Mandy Moore herself, “Only Hope.”
I even remember asking my roommate then, Isaac Larkai, to get me the lyrics of that song.
David was in a very distressed state when he wrote this Psalm. His desperation could be felt in very verse of this Psalm.
He knew people in his own camp were giving information of his whereabouts to Saul and yet he didn’t know exactly who were doing that. Therefore his resolve was to TOTALLY fall on God as his REFUGE.
Indeed some friends may go far with you, but… how far is far? They may probably be same people who’ll secretly lay the snare for you (verse 3b).
It’s high time we all knew that we have just ONE Hope… Our ONLY HOPE.
Have a blessed day.
