Psalm 24:7-8 KJV
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
[8] Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
First thing that dropped into my spirit when I read Ps 24 was Don Moen’s song ‘Lift up your heads, Oh ye gates.’ The tune kept reverberating upstairs! as I even wondered how David sang it in his time.
This Psalm has portions of Psalm 15 in there, emphasising the need to have ‘clean hands’ 👐 and a ‘pure heart’ ♥. Such a lifestyle automatically attracts the ‘righteousness of God’ on your life, irrespective of your own personal opinion of your righteousness.
And then this in turn opens up those ‘ancient gates’ in your life that would have otherwise prevented the King of Glory in your life. You actually opened them without even knowing you did, just because of your ‘clean hand’s and ‘pure heart. ‘
So the King of Glory comes in and and He is proud to name you as part of the ‘generation that seek Him.’ You did just one thing, and yet the consequences are for a lifetime.
Let’s desire those hands and that heart and open up ourselves for His goodness.
Have a blessed Fridayyyyy.
