1 Samuel 11:15 KJV
And all the people went to Gilgal; and there they made Saul king before the Lord in Gilgal; and there they sacrificed sacrifices of peace offerings before the Lord ; and there Saul and all the men of Israel rejoiced greatly.
Saul had never thought of becoming king. In fact he was never that ambitious. His meeting with Samuel and all the sequence of events that followed were arranged by God himself and Saul had no clue what was going on.
There are so many examples of Saul who never really went seeking for glory but found it anyway. And yet, many ‘worthless fellows’ (see 1 Sam 10:27) will find reason not to recognize him as such.
No matter what means you get to the top of the ladder, some ‘worthless fellows’ would do all in their power to pull you down. But once the El Elyon put you there He’ll find an occasion to silence them all, just like He did for Saul.
We must be cautious of ‘worthless fellows’ in our lives, ministry or careers. They have no power over us, NO!, but we still need to know and recognize that they do exist among us, so we can tread more cautiously.
Have a blessed day!
