HOPE OF A TREE – Thu, Oct 25, 2018

Job 14:7-9 KJV

For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.

[8] Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;

[9] Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.

Reading through conversations are not always easy, especially when they are not told as stories but presented as snippets of philosophical language.

One of Job’s deep statements that has made such an impact in my life, especially these past two years has been Job 14:7-9; “for there is a hope of a tree…”

When I read about hope, most writers present it as though it was even a more significant virtue than faith itself. “For where faith fails, hope thrives.”
If a tree that is hewn down is still hopeful of life, at the scent of water, then we are not wasted yet.

Life is ruthless sometimes, battering us on all sides, with no mercy whatsoever. But we can dare to hope… the kind that a dying tree would have, induced by the Spirit of God in us.
Let’s keep hope alive no matter the condition.

Have a blessed day.
