WHEN YOU GO THROUGH THE FIRE, I AM WITH YOU – Tue, Nov 05, 2019

Ezekiel 24:15-16,18 KJV

Also the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

[16] Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

[18] So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

When I read certain portions of scripture, it gives me the feeling that modern day Christians have had the easiest ride in the practise of their faith as compared to the earlier days.

We established the fact that Prophet Ezekiel employed a lot of drama in his ministry, but we took no critical look at some of what he had to endure. That God had to actually take away the desire of his eyes, his wife, overnight, and asked him not to mourn, so God could use the occasion to depict what was going to happen to Israel, seems a hard one for my small mind to comprehend.

Like Abraham and other giants of faith, Prophet Ezekiel followed instructions to the letter, even though he probably didn’t approve of them.

When your faith is one of convenience, you may want to give it a second look. When all you seek for is your comfort and aren’t prepared to go through any fire, you may have to check what faith you have subscribed to. The Road is indeed narrow and few find it. I pray you keep to it, you who have found it.

Have a blessed day.
