And he said unto him, Thus saith the Lord , Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

Ahaziah had succeeded his father Ahab as king when he died. Instead of immediately showing his allegiance to God, he begins on a wrong note; following his father’s path of idolatry.

God would not tolerate such nonsense this time round. Ahaziah never recovered from his sick bed. He lasted only 2yrs as king.

Scripture says that blessed is the man into whom the Lord imputes no sin… Ps 32:2. Ahaziah could have lived on if he acknowledged his sin and asked for pardon from the Lord, afterall his more wicked father did worse and yet reigned for abt 22yrs.

You cannot continue to live in sin as we prepare to receive Him this xmas. You cannot afford to be cut off at this time. Acknowledge your guilt and surrender entirely to Him. Advent is here!
